Frequently asked questions
Does my child need a diagnosis?
No. Our groups are for children aged 0–8 with developmental concerns, developmental delay or autism with low to moderate support needs, and for families who want extra support with play and development. You don't need a diagnosis, referral or NDIS plan.
Is this early intervention?
Yes. The groups are short, skill-focused, play-based early intervention for young children, designed and reviewed by experts in early childhood development. They are not a replacement for individual therapy when a child needs it; our partner Marsden Therapy offers 1:1 allied health for that.
What ages do you cover?
Birth to 8 years: Tiny Explorers (0–2), Toddler Talk & Play (2–3), School Ready Crew (3–5), and four school-age groups for 5–8 year olds covering turn-taking, friendships, fine motor skills and movement.
Do parents stay?
Yes, always. We're not a childcare service, so a parent or carer stays on site for every session. Parents play alongside their child in the under-3 groups, stay in the room for School Ready Crew, and stay at the venue for the 5–8 groups.
How much does it cost?
A$86.79 per hour (the NDIS hourly price limit), GST-free. Sessions are charged in whole hours (minimum 1 hour) and each group shows its length, price per session and term total. Kids programs are charged per child, and the parent or carer with them is free. Parent programs are charged per adult.
How do I pay?
Private families pay the whole term online when they book. NDIS self-managed families are invoiced after each session; plan-managed families' plan managers are invoiced after each session. NDIA-managed bookings are claimed by our partner Marsden Therapy. There's no deposit and nothing to pay to join a waitlist.
Can I use NDIS funding?
Yes, for self-managed, plan-managed and NDIA-managed (agency) participants, within NDIS price limits. NDIA-managed bookings are delivered with and claimed by our partner Marsden Therapy, a registered NDIS provider. Families without NDIS funding pay the same price privately.
My child is on a waitlist for therapy. Can they join?
Absolutely. Many families join a group while waiting for assessment or individual therapy. It keeps skills building and gives you ideas to use at home.
Where are the groups held?
In local community venues in the Marsden Park NSW and Cannington WA areas. Your booking confirmation includes the venue address and parking details.
What's your cancellation and refund policy?
Please give at least 5 days' notice to cancel a session, because we prepare resources, staff and venues in advance. Later cancellations and no-shows are charged. If you cancel the whole booking at least 5 days before the first session, we refund term fees in full. Places are reserved for the whole term, so fees aren't refunded if your child misses sessions. NDIS participants are charged only as the NDIS short-notice cancellation rules allow.
What about allergies?
Our groups are nut-free and allergy aware. Please don't bring nuts or any food or items that could trigger an allergic reaction, and tell us about allergies and health needs when you book. If your child has an EpiPen or asthma reliever, bring it and their action plan to every session.
Is there support for parents too?
Yes. We run parent coaching workshops with an experienced practitioner, at the same venues. They're charged per adult, per hour. See For parents to register, ask a question or suggest a topic.
What if a group isn't the right fit?
Our questionnaire helps us place children well. If a group isn't the best fit right now, we'll tell you straight away and suggest other support, including 1:1 appointments with Marsden Therapy. Nothing is booked or charged.
Ready when you are
A 3-minute check shows only the groups that suit your child. Nothing is charged until you choose a group.
